Nicholas Volkman, DVM

Dr. Nicholas Volkman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, but his journey into veterinary medicine is unique. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, he had a fulfilling career as a research biologist, studying Antarctic sea birds, including penguins. Dr. Volkman has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1989, and has specialized in relief work since 2009, providing valuable surgical and dental care to various veterinary practices. He has been an integral part of our team since May 2019, where he primarily performs surgeries and dental procedures. His diverse background in science and research brings a unique perspective to his veterinary practice.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Volkman enjoys spending several months each year vacationing in Maine. He shares his life with his wife, two children, and a beloved cat.
